DJ controllers are used to control DJ software and are very commonly used since the rise of digital DJ-ing. Most DJ controllers use MIDI or HID protocols and connect to other devices through a USB cable.
Often DJ controllers contain a mixer session and two jog wheels but more creative controllers are also used to mix and manipulate audio on the device that is running the software.
Some of the most popular brands of DJ controllers include Pioneer, Native Instruments and Denon.
